Dr. Jerrold H. Abramson is a New York State licensed psychologist who has been treating patients since 1976 and has maintained a full-time private practice since 1981. Dr. Abramson earned a bachelor's degree with honors in psychology from the University of Cincinnati in 1971, a master's degree in psychology from Temple University in 1973, and a Ph.D. in psychology from Michigan State University in 1976.
During the course of his academic studies, for his outstanding achievement, he was elected to several honor societies, including Phi Beta Kappa, Phi Kappa Phi, Phi Eta Sigma, and Psi Chi, National Honor Society in Psychology. As a practicing psychologist, he is a member in good standing with the following professional organizations: American Psychological Association, New York State Psychological Association, and the American College of Forensic Examiners.
In addition to his certification as a psychologist in New York State, Dr. Abramson is a Diplomate in Forensic Clinical Psychology from the American Board of Psychological Specialties and he is also certified to treat workers' compensation patients.
Dr. Abramson specializes in cognitive-behavior therapy in which there is a present-oriented, problem solving approach and where treatment tends to be short term. Dr. Abramson participates in numerous health insurance plans.
